Prepare for Standardized Tests

LearningExpress 3.0 is a collection of online resources to aid in studying for educational and professional testing, improving skills and building new ones. Study guides, practice tests and tutorials are available for elementary through college students, adults pursuing careers and those hoping to gain U.S. citizenship. These are available in the Louisiana Library Connection suite of electronic resources, accessible from home or your local public library.

After signing up for a free account, users have access to resources in several formats: tests, tutorials, e-books and video courses. Practice tests simulate test content, and most can be taken timed or untimed for more effective test preparation. Available tutorials guide users through instructional resources step by step, allowing them to focus on the most relevant materials. The collection also includes e-books to be downloaded via computer, tablet or smartphone. Video courses allow the user to experience instruction in computer skills and programs in action.

LearningExpress is extremely practical. Students and adults have access to appropriate grade-level practice sets for improving English and math skills, as well as subject-specific units for students and work-specific units for adults. College-bound students are able to study for required standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT, and there are tutorials for writing college entrance essays. Those headed for graduate-level education can access study materials for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT and others. Study materials for professional career entry testing include civil service, commercial driver’s license, emergency medical services, nursing, real estate and teaching. LearningExpress also includes materials for Spanish speakers to improve reading, writing and math skills and to prepare for the GED, HiSET or citizenship test.

Learning Express is provided by the State Library of Louisiana to all public library users and is available in the Louisiana Library Connection suite of online resources at lalibcon.state.lib.la.us.
