Children's Summer Reading Program

Summer 2015
 
The 2015 Children's Summer Reading Program, “Every Hero Has a Story”, will be offered by public libraries throughout the state.
 
Children participating in the summer reading program may participate by reading books throughout the summer and attending library programs. The goal is to foster self-confidence and create lifelong readers. Families are encouraged to check with their local public library to learn about the specific incentives and programs available in their community. The 2015 children’s artwork was created by Illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka.
 
Upcoming Slogans: The 2016 children’s slogan is “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read”. 
The 2017 Overall theme is Build a Better World

Teen Summer Reading Program

2015 Teen Summer Reading
The 2015 Teen Summer Reading Program, “UNMASK”, will be offered by public libraries throughout the state. Teens may participate by reading books throughout the summer and attending library programs. The goal of the Teen Summer Reading Program is to offer a variety of activities to draw teens into the library, encourage them to continue reading over the summer, and to cultivate a love of reading in Louisiana’s next generation. Families are encouraged to check with their local public library to learn about specific incentives and programs available for teens in their community. This year’s original teen artwork was created by Hope Larson.
 
The 2016 teen slogan will be "Get in the Game - Read". 
The 2017 overall theme is Build a Better World 
 
TEEN VIDEO CHALLENGE 2014 Summer Reading Program Details, Create a video promoting Summer Reading. You could win $275 and an award for your library.

Adult Summer Reading Program

The 2015 Adult Summer Reading Program slogan is “Escape The Ordinary”.

Participating libraries will encourage adults to involve themselves by reading books throughout the summer and attending library programs. Check with your local public library to learn the specific incentives and library programs available for adults in your community.

The 2016 Adult Summer Reading Program slogan will be “Exercise Your Mind - Read”. The 2017 overall theme will be "Build A Better World".
