Acquisitions & Collection Development

Among duties are acquisition and collection development of the Children’s and Young Adult Collections for all Bossier Parish Library branches reading book reviews, checking online vendors for holding, and input selection information into Library’s acquisition system using TLC’s Online Selection Assistant (OSA).  Adhering to mission, policies and plans of Library Board. Multiple tasks require working closely and in full cooperation with staff of 5 full-time.  Has little to no contact with the general public.  MLIS required.  Prior library experience preferred; highly independent; experience and references showing capability to fulfill job description; documented record of establishing strong, supportive, cooperative relationships and positive communications with coworkers and supervisors in a collaborative, cooperative work setting.  Between $38,000-$42,000, vacation, holidays, sick, medical, professional education allowance.  Pre-employment drug screening.
