Assistant Systems Librarian
LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport is seeking an Assistant Systems Librarian for the Systems section. This is a library tenure-track, faculty position in the Department of Medical Library Science at the Instructor rank. The position reports to the Assistant Director for Systems.
The library serves as a principal resource for the School of Medicine, University Hospital, School of Graduate Studies, and School of Allied Health Professions.
Salary Range: $41,500 – 54,000
Responsibilities: Manages the library’s website to include design, content formatting, and usability features. Designs, coordinates and teaches educational courses and sessions on new and traditional information technologies, as well as library orientation and software-specific courses. Maintains and updates computer systems within the library. Collaborates in developing web-based information resources. Provides technical support in the use of hardware and software.
Required: MLS or Master’s in Computer Science or related field. Experience in web page design and/or CGI programming. Knowledge in modern programming languages such as Dreamweaver, PHP, Flash, Photoshop, CSS, HTML, Java, Javascript, Adobe and Perl. Knowledge of computer operating systems, including Windows 7/NT/XP/2000. Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
