Position Classification: Branch Supervisor – North Terrebonne
Salary: $48,235 - $53,268, depending on qualifications

General Requirements: Must have a MLIS (Masters of Library and Information Science) or enrolled in an accredited MLIS program with emphasis on public libraries; must have experience in use of computers and database technology; must have library management experience; must have an understanding of public library service; must have experience in supervising people

BRANCH SUPERVISOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree with a masters in library science (MLIS) from an accredited university or enrolled in an accredited MLIS program
- Must have library management experience
- Must have experience in the use of computers
- Must have an understanding of public library service
- Must have experience in supervising people
GOAL:
To supervise and administer the day-to-day operation of a large library
SUPERVISOR:
Assistant Director
DUTIES:
- To assist users with services of the branch
- To train and supervise lower classified personnel
- To administer library branch of medium to large complexity
- To supervise the operation of routine library procedures
- To implement programming and activities
- To write grants
- To proctor testing
- To schedule and/or maintain the meeting rooms for the East Houma and North Terrebonne Branches
- To evaluate staff performance in accordance with evaluation policy
- To handle money in accordance to the system's established procedure
- To keep accurate statistical records in a timely manner and in accordance with policy
- To work efficiently with library volunteers
- To follow policies and procedures in the library policy manual and personnel handbook
- To participate in staff development through continuing education classes
- To work cooperatively and in professional harmony with staff, administrators, and the community
- To perform other library related duties as required by a superordinate
- To maintain a neat and organized work area and facility
