Children’s Librarian
DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction and general guidance of the Library Director and direct daily supervision of the Central Library Head, the Children’s Librarian plans, organizes, directs, and manages all aspects of children’s library services which include but are not limited to collection development, storytelling programs, special events, educational and craft activities and promoting children’s services and programs in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS (for complete list of required qualifications, see job description):
• Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution
• Public library service experience in Children’s Department with documented evidence of managerial and administrative effectiveness
• Experience working in a public library setting with system wide responsibilities (candidates with prior experience in library systems with branches will be given priority)
• Knowledge of library practices and principles, particularly those relating to the delivery of services to children
All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a substance abuse test and criminal background check.
SALARY:
$40,000-$45,000
