CIRCULATION SERVICES MANAGER: The Texarkana Public Library seeks a service oriented person capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patrons, employees, supervisors, other agencies and the community. Responsibilities are to administer, plan and coordinate all functions of the circulation services department, maintain and oversee processing of departmental records, notices, forms, reports and files, schedule staff, participate in library planning and decision making, schedule and train volunteers, schedule the meeting room, assist  in the selection of library materials and provide reference and readers advisory guidance.  A Master’s Degree in Library Science or Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution is preferred; familiarity with library automation systems (Horizon), knowledge of core library service operations, practices and principles and progressively responsible library experience are preferred or any equivalent combination of education and library/organization experience.  A basic knowledge of the principles and practices of modern library systems and programs, knowledge of library circulation or processing techniques, working knowledge of library classification systems, working knowledge of basic office procedures, aptitude for detail work, knowledge of computer applications in libraries, Internet and database searching, knowledge of the principles and practices of office management, work organization and supervision are preferred.  Salary $39,466,  excellent benefits package which includes health, life and dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, social security and TMRS retirement.  The person selected for this position will undergo a physical, drug screen and background check.  Submit a cover letter, resume, transcripts, and the names of (3) three professional references to:  Alice Coleman, Director, Texarkana Public Library, 600 W.
