William Carey University invites qualified applicants for the position of Learning Resource Center Librarian on its New Orleans campus.  Reporting to the Director of Libraries in Hattiesburg, the LRC Librarian is responsible for the daily operation of the center and for providing library services to support Nursing and related programs offered at the New Orleans campus.   

Responsibilities:  The Learning Resource Center Librarian will manage library services, including circulation, reserves, reference, and interlibrary loan, in support of New Orleans faculty and students.  The incumbent will work with library staff in Hattiesburg to provide library instruction services and resources, including classroom and point of use instruction, web-based library guides and other materials.  The incumbent will work with the Nursing faculty in the selection of appropriate library materials, will supervise student workers and one part time staff, and will collect statistics and prepare reports as needed.  This individual will serve as a library faculty member and will participate in the planning and evaluation of library services and collections for the New Orleans Learning Resource Center.  

Status:  This position is advertised as part time at 25 hours per week; however, a full time appointment can be considered.  

Required Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS or its equivalent; excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience working in an academic library; knowledge of health science information sources.  

Salary:  Will be determined by the university based on qualifications and experience.
