Description
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A master's degree in library science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association followed by one year of experience in professional library work.

Supplemental Information: 
No Civil Service Test Required.

Applicants with international degrees must attach an equivalency evaluation to his/her application with a copy of the transcript.  Applications without the equivalency evaluation will be disqualified for consideration.

There are two (2) openings at the State Library in Baton Rouge, LA that are in the Career Progression Group to a Librarian 3.  There are two (2) announcements; however, applicants applying to this announcement will be eligible for consideration at the Librarian 2 or 3 level only.  Applicants MUST apply to both announcements to be considered eligible for the Librarian 1 level.  This position may be filled as a Librarian 2 or 3 depending upon the qualifications and training of the selected applicant.  One position is located in the Louisiana section of the Library and the other position is located in the Reference section.

The maximum annual salary for the Library 3 is $66,685.00.  Please refer to the “Job Specifications” tab located at the top of the LA Careers “Current Job Opportunities page” for specific information on salary ranges, minimum qualification requirements and job concepts for each level.
