Minimum Experience Required: Minimum ten (10) years of increasingly responsible related experience in a university library setting; demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of library operations including extensive knowledge of contemporary library practices, trends and emerging technologies; experience managing library budgets; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; successful grant writing experience; record of professional participation as evidenced by publications, presentations, or other contributions; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, faculty, students, administrators, and the university community.
Minimum Education Required: MLS or MLIS Degree from an ALA-Accredited Program
Preferred Education: Ph.D. or second master's degree.

Job Description: The library director oversees the organization, administration and operation of library services. The director provides leadership and vision and is responsible for the strategic direction of the library. This position currently supervises nine (9) faculty librarians; seventeen (17) support staff, and reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Ellender Memorial Library is part of the LOUIS consortium which uses the SIRSI integrated library system.
