Louisiana Documents

The State of Louisiana's government agencies publish many documents that are of interest to the general public.  Most of these print publications are available in one of 40 academic, public and special depository libraries located around the state.  Other publications are only available in electronic format.

Louisiana law requires that state agencies submit copies of their publication to the Recorder of Documents, located within the State Library, for distribution to the depository libraries via the Louisiana State Documents Depository Program.  This program preserves and assures the availability of state publications for use by the public throughout the state.  The State Library maintains the most complete collection of historic state documents in existence.  The Hill Memorial Library at LSU also maintains a large historical collection.

To see a list of Louisiana State Documents or to find a specific document:

Electronic Publications

After a particular publication has been identified, you can visit a depository library to use the materials.  Alternatively, you may be able to obtain a copy through the interlibrary loan process.  Your local library can assist you.
